The Greater Stark County Urban League's vision is to become the premier community-driven organization advocating to empower African Americans and the underserved and deliver transformational services with integrity, innovation, and collaboration to move individuals and families to economic self-efficiency. Workforce Development
To connect businesses and individuals, providing readiness training and wrap around services to those we serve to effectively and efficiently fill the many available jobs in Stark County.
Housing
Every American lives in safe, decent, affordable and energy-efficient housing on fair terms.

Every American child is ready for college, work and life.

Every American has access to quality and affordable healthcare solutions.

Every American has an equal right and responsibility to fully participate in our democracy and civic processes, and all people have a right to justice and fairness.
OUR HISTORY
The National Urban League (founded in 1910) is a nonpartisan civil rights organization based in New York City that advocates on behalf of African Americans and against racial discrimination in the United States. The Canton Urban League (founded in 1921) is an Affiliate of the National Urban League and its mission is to enable African Americans and others to reach full economic, social, and health parity to enrich their lives and the lives of their families.
The National Urban League and Greater Stark County Urban League have maintained a prominent presence in our nation and community. The Canton Urban League was established in 1921, and has proudly continued to service our community for over 100 years. Today, the National Urban League has 90 affiliates serving 300 communities in 36 states and the District of Columbia. The National Urban League provides direct services in the areas of education, health care, housing, jobs, and justice — improving the lives of more than 2 million people nationwide.
